Raised Bed Gardening

Raised Bed Gardening ensures that the soil stays moist, plants have enough nourishment, and the soil does not compact. This increases the chance of having better plants and yield.






Removed topsoil about 1 feet.













Applied dried and green leaves mulch of about 4 inches.








Applied about 6 inches of paddy straw.















Jeevamrutha being stirred for application over the mulch. This solution has active micro-organisms which feed on the mulch and their excrete is available as food for the plants.















Applied a layer of farm yard manure / cow manure and dressed it with Jeevamrutha.













Closed the bed with topsoil that was removed earlier.
















After 3 weeks the bed settles down and is ready for sowing.
The soil was kept moist all the while using a garden watering can.

Tomato seedlings, cabbage, beetroot, radish, onion & carrot seeds were planted.

Plants after 5 weeks.

Panchagavya spray and vermicompost was applied once a week.
